Whether your narrative unfolds in a hospital, a research lab, a rural clinic, or within the mind of a healthcare professional, patient, or caregiver, we welcome submissions that integrate medical themes into any genre—mystery, thriller, romance, historical, speculative, or literary fiction.

In addition to fiction, Code Blue Publishing proudly welcomes nonfiction submissions that explore the medical world in all its complexity. Whether you're sharing memoirs, investigative journalism, narrative essays, or professional insights, we’re looking for work that illuminates the realities, challenges, and triumphs within healthcare. If your story brings clarity, compassion, or a fresh perspective, we want to hear from you.

 

We accept both agented and unagented submissions. Before submitting, please familiarize yourself with our editorial focus and ensure your manuscript aligns with our mission to publish stories that resonate with readers through authentic, emotionally rich, and medically relevant storytelling.

• Word Count: Manuscripts should generally fall between 60,000 and 100,000 words.

• Format: Submit your manuscript and synopsis as separate Word documents. Include a query letter that introduces you and your work.

• Themes: We are especially interested in stories that feature:

  • Healthcare professionals as protagonists

  • Ethical dilemmas in healthcare

  • Psychological or emotional impact of illness

  • Medical mysteries or suspense

  • Historical or futuristic or speculative medical/healing settings

• Diversity & Inclusion: We strongly encourage submissions from underrepresented voices and stories that reflect diverse perspectives within the healthcare field.
